Hi Shaun,

Greatings from across the pond. As I looked at the photos before I got down to the S/N, I was guessing low 8000 #. With S4 arches and interior dooor handles and rocker switches, it has all the markers of an S4. Most S3 Super Safety models have bolt-on wheels, so I don't have a problem with the large demister grille and the wheels. Looks standard early S4 to me. Good luck w/ your project.

Roger

Pcd is same as herald and spitfire but not sure if those wheels offsets are such that they would foul on something. The Elan bolt on wheels were Lotus specific.

cheers

I have recently acquired 46/8162 same colour scheme and interior but knock on wheels. The car is best described as heavily patinated, but structurally sound.

Sounds like mine. Everything in my car is so tired or perished (except the engine) that I'm starting to see the value in accepting heavy patina as a way of life.

Got the car home on Saturday, really pleased with it ,after removing brambles growing through it found a lovely galv chassis no corrosion, tubular wishbones,uj sliding drive shafts, cassette type water pump, starting to dry the inside out but all looks really good will need new dash, seats recovered ,hood but got to finish my plus 2 before work commences. If anyone can give me a bit of history of the car that would be great.
