Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

I recently came across this photo of 1970s actress Susan George (Straw Dogs) sitting on an Elan Series 3. I had not seen it before.

Does anyone know the back story to this, by any chance? I know she was a one time girlfriend of George Best and therefore exposed to his Lotus's (stop sniggering at the back), but I have not heard that she may have had an Elan herself.

Susan George breeds Arabian horses on Exmoor. I have contacted her to ask about the photo. I'll let you know what transpires.

Thanks for posting the picture Tim.
It's just given me some entertainment at work, showing the picture and explaining it was my ex girlfriend when we went to purchase the car .... A long time ago.
Although they know I own an Elan, few know what one looks like, never mind the different variants and only a couple would know who the lady is.
Several very favourable comments ..... Certainly boosted my standing amongst my colleagues until I confessed the deception
