91 Elan Help

PostPost by: tvacc » Mon May 04, 2015 12:58 pm

Hi all, I know this is an early early Elan website, and most of you know i have had many and still own 1. but I also use a 91 Elan as my daily driver.

I tree posting this on LEC, but no response. Hopefully others here know other cars. I hit a dipped sewer grate with my Elan on Saturday. Really dented the oil pan. I am surprised it did not split open. Does anyone know if the pan be replaced with the motor in the car on a M100 Elan?

Hi,
I've owned a couple of Elan M100s in the past but unfortunately don't know the answer to your question. http://www.lotuselancentral.com were always very helpful and knowledgeable, give them a try.

Hello Tony,
yes it is possible:
"The engine oil sump can be removed with the engine 'in situ' after removing the engine bay underframe, and the exhaust front pipe."

Please PM me your email, I will send you the pages you need (or all ...)
