13.6mm diameter splined wiper arms
Posted: Mon Jan 19, 2015 3:55 pmAnybody know a supplier of new wiper arms to suit 13.6mm wiper drive spindles on a 1967 Lotus Elan S3 FHC? I cannot find a supplier. My wiper spindles are original as far as I know, and are the same diameter as fitted to a Triumph Stag and GT6 that were checked by my mechanic. I never had problems buying replacement arms back in the 70s and 80s from local motor factors, but any suppliers I have spoken to or emailed recently seem to be surprised that 13.6mm spindles exist at all!
I bought wedge-type arms from a well-known Lotus parts supplier some months ago, but the the quality has been disappointing --- the arm pivot is excessively tight, so the arms fail to conform to the glass curvature near the outer parts of the screen.
Advice greatly appreciated.
