AIr Locked heater

Is there any easy way to remove an air lock from a heater?

What have you tried so far? heater tap full open?

Yes,disconnect the hose from the thermostat housing and block the brass union....find a length of clear 1/2" pipe ( I used approx 8ft of old m/cycle petrol pipe ) and stuff it in the rubber heater pipe...pass the pipe over something raised ( I used a roof beam in the shed )....take off the radiator cap....gently suck the hose...you will see the liquid level rise up the pipe..followed by any air bubbles...make sure the level of liquid doesn't reach the high point..( some coolant does nasty things to your body )

i would suggest first you remove botth hose to and from heater. Extend with lenghs of garden hose. Connect the one going to bottom of heater to garden water supply and back flush. Reconnect bottom hose from engine to heater. Pour water into hose supplying top of rad untill full and pinch with hand. reconnect trying not to loose too much water.
imho always back flush heater like this to be sure it is not blocked
