Zetec - Alphe 5 speed conversion

I recently purchased a 72 partially restored federal Sprint - 0035/J - on a Spyder chassis / suspension, it came with an uninstalled silver top Zetec but no transmission.
I have had in stores for a few years an Alpha 5 speed trans converted to a twink bell housing that I was thinking of installing in my S1 (I since decided to keep it original),
A recent forum discussion discussed the relatively minor work to adapt a twink trans bell housing to the Zetec.
How about the Alpha tranny to the Zetec, any advise / thoughts. Has anyone done it?
The august advise / comments of my peers is sought.
