Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Hi,
I've recently purchased a genuine Ford Cortina Cigar Lighter to put in my Sprint, I have located the Purple main wire and panel lighter red/white wire. My problem is there appears to be no location for an earth wire on the cigar lighter body.

Can anybody give me an idea on how to attach an earth to the body of the lighter.

Here's how mine's earthed (on both cortina and ?lan). Earth lead soldered to outer shell and that lead goes down to the dash lower mount bracket, ie chassis.
