To my knowledge the inner stub axle is not common with any other vehicle. Given that the Elan uses the Ford "English" Differential the spline is the same as many English Ford vehilces (Anglia, Cortina etc) but of course they all have a solid rear axle with axle shafts and not stub axles.

Three types of inner stub axles are currently available for Elans. 1. standard 3 eared for the Rotoflex 2. flanged for a 6 bolt CV joint and 3. flanged for a 4 bolt hook type u-joint.

The flanges in my stub axles have 8 holes to accommodate the 2 different bolt circles of hook type u-joints (just like there are 3 types of differential pinion flanges with 2 bolt circles).

The three types of inner stub axles are pictured below.

FYI...OEM Lotus inner stub axles came in several styles with different diameter shafts (stronger) and some with a Rotoflex retaining pin.

Attached are a couple of pics of the body which I'm now prepping for paint.
The third pic is of the right side inboard seatbelt attach point. To the right is one of numerous threaded bobbins which accepts a bolt through the chassis from below. To the left is a mystery hole in the glass with no bobbin and to the left again is a small bobbin (one of two for securing the battery). This mystery hole does not exist on the driver side. Anybody know the purpose of this hole? Could it have been used to run a battery vent tube overboard?

Lots of cracks and extra holes in fiberglass at my house. Seems like I spend a lot of time fixing others desire to let the water out and other ideas of why fiberglass is so easy to drill holes into. To be quite honest I never know what was factory and what was a DPO idea of what they wanted. I don't want to go into what is factory as I really don't know so I repair a lot of holes that may have had a purpose at one time. It looks lie two of these have the holes still and one was cut away for a lager battery to fit in the tray so I am sure that I had my way with a brush and resin. The one with the leaves in it I cant see. The last had a lot of work done in that area so who knows. All of that said your idea of a vent for the battery box is as good as any so I would go along with that.
