To my knowledge the inner stub axle is not common with any other vehicle. Given that the Elan uses the Ford "English" Differential the spline is the same as many English Ford vehilces (Anglia, Cortina etc) but of course they all have a solid rear axle with axle shafts and not stub axles.
Three types of inner stub axles are currently available for Elans. 1. standard 3 eared for the Rotoflex 2. flanged for a 6 bolt CV joint and 3. flanged for a 4 bolt hook type u-joint.
The flanges in my stub axles have 8 holes to accommodate the 2 different bolt circles of hook type u-joints (just like there are 3 types of differential pinion flanges with 2 bolt circles).
The three types of inner stub axles are pictured below.
FYI...OEM Lotus inner stub axles came in several styles with different diameter shafts (stronger) and some with a Rotoflex retaining pin.
