Way too cool, congrats on the opportunity! BTW, your picture with Mr. Hall is worthless without the story!

I'm looking at this picture and I ask myself..... "how in the heck did that guy get in that place"?
Yes, I too need a story.

Jay Leno's garage? I haven't got a clue either. A picture speaks a thousand words generally, but this must be in a foreign language.

The guy on the right is Jay Leno's mechanic, who is building his modded Elan. See all the vids on Jay's site.

I would assume the other guy to be the OP, Mr Blues Brothers.

Mr. Blues Brothers, You lucky dog!! Did you get a chance to tour Jay's collections? For those who don't know about Jay Leno, He is famous for his unique car collections at BIG DOG GARAGE, among other things like the late evening talk show. Just google him. Jim Hall is one of the key guys at the garage.

Ok, so I don't get my ears clipped....I had written this great story explaining how I got into BDG to spend some time looking over the Elan project, talking with Mr. Hall and getting a tour. Well an errant fingertip sent it somewhere, not sure where but it did'nt get posted and I have not sat down to re write it. So, no I am no one "famous", although my dog may disagree, just another Elan nut who was able to wiggle his way into the holy ground of car collections. I spent some time with Jim Hall looking over the Elan project. He was very gracious answering many of my silly questions. Lots of very special hand made parts on the car, when finished it will certainly be one of a kind. The night before I attended a function at the Peterson Museum on So Cal honoring George Follmer. Great event with several heros in attendence, Parnelli Jones, John Morton, Don Nichols, Jim Hall (Chaparrel fame). Better than going to Disneyland.

That would be the same John Morton. Very nice man, and oh my god still fast in a race car. I have raced with him at the Monterey Historics. That is to say he was waaaay in front of me.

For those of you who have not read Silvia Wilkinson's, Stainless Steel Carrot, a biography of John Morton, it is well worth the read. She has recently released an updated version, with more behind the scenes stories. Time heals all wounds, or, time wounds all heels....or something like that.... Anyway, proceeds from the book go to her favorite animal charity.
