My first elan 3777 VZ sold in mid seventies. Disappeared and never seen of again S4 orginally white but repainted black cream and with gold stripes. Inspiration ........an inverted pint of the Guiness....
looks good! tastes good.

Hi mate, that is stunning. What wheels are they, and where can I get them? They look much wider than OEM...

Thanks, Ollie

Just remembered, my Elan had minilites at the time so if anybody remembers seeing a B&W Sprint in North London in the early 1980s or before I would love to know. I am the 7th owner and since I have owned the car since 1983 it got through a lot of owners before me.. I wonder why? :-)

Thanks to this thread I now know a bit more of the history of my S4 FHC, including its original colour - cheers John. :D

...it has those 'bespoke Yo-ka-homa' semi slicks right now. Heaps of grip, and they are street legal, though not the best in the rain... 175/60 is the maximum that works with the body, and also with the original wheels. But I think I will go to XAS-FF later, the car sits a bit low with the Yokohamas.

Hope that helps, Cheers, H.

Great, thanks man - I'll make a note of that width. I love the original wheels, but I'm worried mine will not be safe due to their age so I thought you'd managed to find some new, wider ones! I don't want to go down the minilite route.

My B&W Elan (as it was in the early 1980's) and I though it was an unusual colour!! I swapped the wheels for a set of original wheels (although I can't remember why looking at this photo).
