Hi All,
Yesterday I fitted the front headlight conversion, removing the standard pods.

From a previous resto I made up a template and retreived some scrap sheeting from a local boat builders yard and cut out the sections to bond.
I'm going to fit the 5 and 3/4" lights and not the 7" ones.

Here are some pics before and after.

Hi All,

Not had much time recently to work on the car due to work commitments but just finished fitting the roll cage before finishing the bodywork off.
I was finally able to fit the 26R type bumper properly but only after cutting it in two and re-stitching it back an inch wider

Hi,
I made the roll cage.
I bought the steel profile 3mm thick, had the corners properly bent, bought proper FIA joints and welded the lot up.
You can remove the whole thing, except for the lateral bars as they are now closed in the sill section, very easily.

It's been a while since we had an update + pictures from your latest creation, how is it going my friend ?

Hope it has moved along.

Hi Doug,
Very slowly at the moment as we've temperatures of up to 40? and it's just too hot.
I'm on holiday in a week's time and therefore I will dedicate a little more time, get some fans going and try to finish the bodywork off in time for september.
I will be posting some pics of the painted soon after.

Ciao

Interesting engine, what bore stroke and cams are you running?

IMG_20131005_171317_2.jpg and
Hi,

I had this LA marked block in the garage and some +30 high compression pistons so I decided to use them for my S2 rebuild. I also had some 85mm Omega pistons but thought it a shame to bore out this block above FIA limits.
I am fitting a steel crank and forged rods. The Head has been rebuilt using some reprofiled racing cams. 8)
This is just a pre-assembly to see if everything is correct...I'll be taking the crank out again shortly to have it properly balanced together with the new flywheel and clutch plate.
I'm going to use some 45 webers and a close ratio gearbox..
I'll let you know how many horses when I get everything dynoed. :)

Hi Gino

They look like pretty big intruders on the pistons. A 6mm high one gets you around 12.5 to 1 compression ratio. Those look like you will be well over 13:1 ? What fuel are you planning on running?

cheers
Rohan

Hi all..Here are some more pics from the ongoing resto which I am doing during my xmas hols...

Well I'm down to final preparation before the undercoat goes on and paying particular attention to:
The door aperture lines.
The hard top fit (bugger !) Tugging and pulling here and there I finally got the hard top to align properly with four bolts holding it down ; two behind the rear window arches and two on the corner edges where it locks into the windscreen frame (hole centres 40 x 40mm) No duck tape here.
The rear bumper, as when you fit the 26R arches the standard bumper is narrow and needs top be cut and opened up.
Well a few more days to go before going back to work so I think the next pics will be in undercoat or final colour (not decided yet !!)
