I am purchasing some parts in the UK. Does anyone have any recommendations for a shipping company or freight forwarder.

Box measures 156cm x 30cm x 100cm and weighs 25kgs.

i have used DHL, which is a very service.
One thing you need to remember is that there are 2 different weights. One the real weight and another that is calculated with the volume.
I found DHL rates not so bad and super service

+1 on DHL from the UK to Canada at any rate. Seems they are perhaps a more common shipping network in the UK than here, but service at my end was very good. Customs brokerage fees were reasonable compared to what I was used to from Fedex, UPS, etc. Suppose your selection of company depends on who is packing & shipping at the other end. Looks like lots of options.

+1 on parcel2go. I bought a a few items on Ebay UK, and the parcel2go rates were significantly lower than what the seller(s) originally quoted. Items arrived fairly quickly as well.

I'm struggling with the same issue on boby panels for my latest Rally Car project. While the panels are big, thay are not that heavy. I'm still scraching my head,trying to figure it out

I have sent parts from the UK all over the world with out too much problem.
The bigger issue I find is cost. Its gets very expensive especially when insuring it.
One pointer I will mention for James' benefit regarding car body panels.
I have not shipped any but you may struggle to get insurance for them.
Body panels are on the list of non insurable items for most couriers I use.
Couriers say they will ship them but with no liability for damage.

My son ships 40 foot containers of car parts to the US two or three times a year.

Let me know how much you get quoted and I'll ask him if he can do anything.

A small tip for Parce2Go users (and probably other online services). As Alan said there's a difference between the volume weight and real weight. I recently had some light weight parts sent and had to exaggerate (lie) about the weight for the online calculator to accept the package - can't remember the exact figures but I entered a weight heavier than the actual weight. I've also had to play with dimensions sometimes to get a parcel accepted - sometimes a difference of a few centimetres can result in a parcel being accepted or not. If you're reasonable with the adjustments there shouldn't be a problem.
