Must have been very cramped

No, never seen one (never want to). I supose it may be possible to widen an Elan nose so that it would fit a +2. The real problems would arise trying to blend the very dissimilar wing profiles so that the result was in any way aesthetically pleasing.

I suppose if you were really determined an Elan shell could be lengthened and widened to fit a +2 chassis thus making a bigger Elan but I suspect the result wouldn't look right unless you went to great lengths (no pun intended) to elongate each element of the car proportionally.

Why do it anyway? the +2 nose is a lovely shape.

Luxury. There were sixteen of us living in t'back of an A35 van.

Why would you want to waste the front of a sports car fitting it onto one of those lardy barges? :|

Luxury .......all we had was a damp tissue box. Mind you, we did have all the straw we could eat

I wouldn't do it, but a proportional upscale of the Elan to "lardy barge" proportions would be an interesting project.

I think an Elan nose grafted on to a +2 would look distinctly odd. There's a lot more to good car design than just throwing a few bits together.

+2 headlamps when in the erect position have never been very pretty but without a drastic change to the front of the car I'm not sure how it could be improved.

The Elan of course is gorgeous from any angle, light up or down. :D

Well said RD. Russ, I must say I very much enjoyed 'boulevarding' 6,000 km to LOG 31 and back. :D Also passed on the excellent S2 two hours away in Edmonton a few weeks ago as I couldn't see my life working well with a 3.9 diff. All Plus's and minuses I guess. As you list both models in your sig, sure all in good fun!

Cheers!
