Hello, I'm new here. I thought I would share this sequence of photos of an Elan loosing a wheel during the Croft race meeting in August.
If anyone knows the driver please tell him about the photos. He may like to know what happened !!!

Is the first car in elansprint71's photo a Turner? Ken.
Slightly confused by everything since the invention of the wheel.

More like a Rochdale than a Turner I would say.

Well done on the Harrington spot- this one is an Alpine (were there any Harrington conversions on the Tiger?).
As for the other one, I think it is a Milano GT but I'm usually wrong!

Indeed welcome and what an unusual sequence, don't think I've ever seen a car sit on a wheel it has just shed before. Looks like he needs some TT output shafts.

Well if you like that sort of thing, I have attached a link to a Youtube video of my Elan chasing a Sunbeam Harrington at Spa a couple of years back. It was the second race of 2 - in the first race the Elan had seized its engine so we blagged one from a Lotus Cortina and switched them over between races. Grid positions were based on race 1 so we were about 60th at the start!

First lap was tricky on cold tyres and Sunbeam was pdquick!

Things were going well and had got halfway through the field when it all came to a messy end.

Happy to report no injuries and the car is repaired and back racing again.

Let me know if this is your bag - I've got ones of Elan on Ginetta G4 and TVR Griffith too.

Paul
