CN Sprint - Whats the Opinion

Hello Forum!
I have seen a CN Sprint for sale. It is mechanically and body wise identical to a "proper" Elan but without the heritage
Does that matter?

What do we all think?

Cheers
Terry

Terry, Does it matter to you, if not then WTH...but must surely be at the right price though?

However, have you done an archive search for what we all "thought"? e.g. -

elan-f14/sprint-t14149.html
elan-f15/start-not-start-that-the-question-t21767.html
elan-archive-f16/chris-neil-elans-t5995.html

or, by way of some light relief, there's this:

Yes, it does matter - to me. But each to his own!

The CN Sprint was a 'kit car' in the modern sense ie Kit Car Monthly or whatever. They sold very few (a handful?) which probably reflects the general consensus that they were not the real thing and therefore better putting one's money into either something else or a proper Elan.

Well I did look at a Westfield first before getting my Caterham! ....and I don't regret that!

I am in touch with Mark at the moment as I have succombed!
What about a Yellow Elan that isn't a Sprint made to look like a Sprint

All the best

Yes Terry, I know the one. It's fine and looks like a good car. As long as you buy it as a S4, not as a Sprint, then no one gets hurt!

I had to look that up! Don't think I've seen that written down before!

Tread carefully, Terry... :)

Or..."Marry in haste repent at leisure"

Terry,
Can you post a link to the CN car which you've seen (if it is advertised)? I'm curious (so I've been told).

I went to look at a CN "kit" when they were in their old premises, the knicker factory; there were loads of parts missing from the kit, i.e. things which were shown in their advert but were somehow absent.
At that time they always had three or four "project cars" lined up/collapsed in their yard. I came to the conclusion that it might be better just to buy a project (which you would have to do anyway) and fix it up and forget about the kit!
