And .......is it correct to describe a car as "Concours" if it hasn't been judged and won a competition?

Hang on Pete, remember this post? elan-f14/bit-lip-t17272.html

The lip/rim/flange was never pained black by the factory - white or body colour for mono colour option Sprints.

My Sprint was originally restored on parts sold to me by Peter Day (he was my closest dealer) so does that make my car a Peter Day restoration? :D

Greg

That is Graffiti's car. He used to list on here and I guess if you do a search on his name you will get some idea of where he got the parts from.

Or was it his brothers car?

Interesting discussion about it then...worth a re-visit.

Maybe this is a different car from the looks of ardee's link. Graffiti (or his brother) decided to go the zetec route.

Is it my imagination or does that Zetec car sit a bit tall? Especially over the rear wheels, it appears a bit "off-road-ish" to my eye. Did they say the rear suspension is adjustable? For height?

Tim,
Thanks for re-directing me to this thread, it's a very interesting read.

I think that the consensus would be that if we all had the funds to do a cheque book restoration; it would have to be bespoke to our own specifications. Colour, state of engine tune, colour and type of chassis/subframe, original or walnut dash, vinyl or leather interior, the list is endless and infinitely variable.

Jonathan has done a nice job, it's nearer to my taste than most I suspect. Just needs an extra gear and 60BHP extra
Kindest regards

I just looked in on the car I started this thread with.

Yep, still there...8 months on

http://www.lesters.info/index.php?optio ... 4&Itemid=1

Might now accept less than the ?45k originally sought!
