Judging by the number of recent threads asking about fitting this that and the other....
I'm considering building a front-wheel drive Elan with a V8 in the rear, which tyres would be best.

Well I think rubber ones would probably be best but we would want to know if you would be using the wheels from your sons Mini Cooper

if it's standard rover v8, i found that 175/75/13s, give best results.....

I would have to strongly disagree there as IMHO a 70 profile would be far better then a 75 profile and the speedo would only be 0.026 of a percent out at 146mph.....although I think Pete should start another thread on the subject as we are getting thread drift here.
