Roadster to Coupe?

Okay, I know it's been discussed where Coupes have been converted to DHC's. We also know of at least one conversion currently being converted back to a coupe, after a coupe to DHC conversion. Has anyone ever converted a type 26 to a coupe, or seen someone glass in a hardtop to a 26? I sometimes have coupe envy, and I'm not saying I going to this at all, but I sometimes look at the car in the garage with the hardtop on and think about how easy it would be to just glass the top to the body. Probably something I would regret later, but I'm sure someone must have done it somewhere.

Yes it would be easy, but why would you even consider it, living in the gorgeous part of the world that you do

Now, in wet dull cold old England ............

I wouldn't concider it, but I did think about how easy it was to do. Just wondering if anyone ever did it. My only real option is to buy a coupe as well.

My wife will love that

Why not just find a Hardtop to go on your car?

Its been done in the past, I think they called them "Shapecraft"

The first picture I copied off the internet and the other 4 were taken by my friend Bill Gavin while we were visiting Tony Thompsons shop in March of 2003.

Ed your up!

I have seen pictures of the Shapecrafts and they are very unique, but I like the Type 36 look much better. I better get going on that hardtop I have, and make it useable. That's not likely to happen until next year (late) though.

The person who first had the hardtop bonded on to create the first FHC was Jim Clark who got Radford to do it for his personalised Elan.

The Shapecraft roof is made from alluminium.

I know! We had 4 feet in the yard after the 1st and 2nd storms, but after all the rain we had, it's down to about 9 inches. Just got another 9 inches Tuesday night. This time of year you don't know what you're going to get.

Here's the next few days:
Friday: Snow. High near 35. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow before 10pm, then rain and snow. Low around 31. Breezy, with a south wind between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible.

Saturday: Rain. High near 40. Breezy, with a south wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Saturday Night: Rain. Snow level 7300 feet. Low around 32. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Sunday: Snow. High near 39. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.
