BTW a 14 gauge spoke is 2.03mm, and it would be easy to cut down and re-thread the spoke from an "ordinary" tho you'd lose the double-butting.

Hi Jim
I just measured the length of the rusty tensioning rod that I have been using for pictures and it is approximately 20-1/4 inches long. Do you know of any spokes in that would be applicable?
I could use 3 or 4 for my projects and stainless would be just as good as chrome plated where I live.

Thanks for doing the research. I kind of figured that the high wheelers would be the place to be looking as I have gutted standard bicycle wheels in the past and found that they were quite a bit to short. Looks like the Hi Wheel spokes may be a bit bigger in diameter but even with my "micrometer eye" I doubt that its going to make any difference in the mechanical aspect of at least having one there. THe price seems quite attractive too.
