I guess it's hard to find a pristine S4. Had they asked for a pristine S2, that would have been easier to find!

Maybe it was hard to find one that someone would put in the hands of the show's star. I can't remember his name but his driving skills would scare me.

I understand the programme will be screened in the next week or two in the UK. Discovery real time.

Here is the promo for the programme.

That's great news, I had a looksee at the site where they have a trailer to whet your appetite.
Unfortunately the series will probably only aired in the UK and not mainland Europe.
No sign nor word on the Ducth site anyway and I am still looking at the 1,000th re-run of the
Range Rover and beetle buggie here from 2005.
So I hope I can pluck it off the internet a bit sooner than 2015 :)

Indeed.. Still entertaining though. I think the original seller let it go too cheaply also. But then, I think that about most of the cars they buy.

Wheeler Dealer wrote:Hi all,

I'm part of the production team for Wheeler Dealers. As part of the new series we're featuring a '68 S4 Elan. For those of you not aware Wheeler Dealers is a program where we buy iconic cars, fix their faults and then sell them on for a profit.

At the beggining of the episode we always film a 'pristine version' of the featured vehicle. This is to show the viewer how good the vehicle can look and what we're trying to achieve by the end of the program.

As such we need an Elan, preferably an S4, to film that is in good condition (possibly having undergone a resto). If you have such a car and want to have it featured on TV, please PM with your availability over the rest of this week and next. We would only require you for half a day and would supply a DVD of the finished program after its aired as a memento.

Look forward to hearing from you.

I have a very clean S4 drophead and am available at any time (retired!).

Can send pictures if you can give me your email address.

I stumbled across this episode yesterday, - on replay I guess..... To me, the car looked like an S4 ( - small S4 badges on rear sides..) , but doesn't an S4 carry the E-type rear lights ?? This car had the Vauxhall units. Thought they passed out with the S3 ?? Please enlighten me.....

I like the way the trailer shows an Elan with a rusty bumper and a hole in it ....

Hope the show is more accurate, do they really buy an Elan for under ?5,000?

All the shows I have seen so far seem to suggest that you are doing well if you make ?500 profit on a car after spending a few week doing it up I think the moral is "don't give up your day job to restore cars for profit..."

- no, they bought it for 8500, and sold it for 16500 with new paint, upper balljoints, ss exhaust and Sue Miller driveshaftconversion........Feel sorry for the seller in a way....!
They found furthermore, that the reason for "hesitation" ( !) when trying to accellerate was due to cracks in the donuts...... :? Never been my favourite, that show....
