I have a '66 Elan Roadster that's running quite nicely.
A '72 Plus 2 130/S under construction.
And I have a '68 TR250 that feels like driving a tuna boat
compared to the Elan.

Also I just aquirred 3 Elan S4 DHC body shells and frames.

Anyone looking for a body shell or frame?

Never to many Lotus

How do you keep a Lotus dependably available to drive every day?

Own 2

Mine are a +2 S130/4 - newly re-engined and going well.

M100 Elan - 110,000 miles a bit tatty but still huge fun.

Hi Russ

I know a lot of people with multiple exposures Lotitus and some seem to be afflicted by this rare and incurable disease more than others. Most times its a mild case and is manageable with daily drives to nowhere. The disease remains dormant for the cold months but like spring fever seems to flair up just after the Internal Revenue Service takes its pound of flesh to leave me vulnerable. It seems like this is the worst time for this illness and if I am not careful I can have multiple outbreaks

Two Lotuses for the time being,
Type 65 Europa (soon to be finished after 10 years restoration... I hope...) and
+2S/130, newly renovated engine; new pointbreaker and condenser to be fitted to day - hopefully ready for use then..

Also a 3 litre V6 Marcos GT (1969) (for sale) and 1936 Austin Seven in my garage .-)

1969 Elan +2 - all black, currently being converted to race spec, new Spyder chassis and rose jointed wishbones.

1972 Elan +2S 130/4 - black, gold metalflake - not an original JPS, currently receiving a mechanical overhaul.

2 x 1988 Excel SE - light blue awaiting engine repair, dark blue in daily use.

1980 Essex Esprit Turbo number 007, garaged awaiting some work for MOT.

1998 Motorsport bodied Elise (S1 Exige), raced in LOTRDC, laser blue with Honda K20A, redundant whilst I decide whether or not to race again.

Yes I have got it bad, Lotus my first love and probably my last, dabbled in Cosworths and Imprezas but always returned to Lotus, never been without a Lotus for 32 years, been a Club Lotus member all that time too.

Previously owned - 1969 Elan +2 in black - TAL 113 G
1970 Elan +2S black/gold - HYY 21 J
1978 Esprit S2 - Silver
1986 Excel SE - dark blue
1974 Elite 502 - dark blue

Would love to trace both of the +2's, anyone know of their whereabouts?

1970 Elan +2S black/gold - HYY 21 J ------ Now Red? last tax liabilty 2005 so maybe off the road being restored?
1969 Elan +2 in black - TAL 113 G ------- Last taxed in 1983 no export marker ........????? Does not look good,

Thanks for that Terry, hope at least HYY21J resurfaces at some point, the 69 one was my first Lotus 32 years ago and sad that it probably doesn't exist anymore.

1967 S3 restored
1972 Sprint awaiting restoration
1991 M100 - as new at 12.000 km
2000 340R - also 12.000 km, but more problems with that

and my wishlist include Excel HC for the family, Giugaro Esprit Turbo and an Elite for the looks,
and elise S1 160 as a "practical" substitute for the 340R. And if I throw out all the "sensible and usable" cars (Saab 95 and Nissan Micra) out of the garage, they would fit all !

Is it Lotusitis, Lotusphilia or how would it be called ?

I seem to be in a topic where peoples disposable income is vastly greater than my own!

Presumeably there are more people out there who have just the one? Maybe thats a topice for another day . . .
