Hi everyone i have just joined the club as i used to have an Elan s4 1969 in yellow, it was registered YWT84G. I owned the car from 1981 until 1987 I bought it as a box of bits and totally restored it over the years.
I was wondering if it was still out there as i have quite a few photos before and after restoration.
I still have a Lotus but its now an Elise 160 sport (sorry wrong Club) but i still miss my old Elan.
Pic enclosed may be able to fill in someones old elan history.

Well, it's still out there somewhere, and in roadworthy condition by the look of it - a search on the DVLA database is showing it as having being re-taxed in June of this year.
Like you, I went from Elans to Elises - I had a more-or-less standard S1, followed by a Sport 160 - but I've gone back to Elans. The Elise is a fabulous car and I'll probably buy another at some stage in the future (once they've stopped depreciating!), but the Elan is even more special.
Good luck with your search!

I just tried to find it on the Unibrain Elan Registry but that page seems to have been taken down.
Anyone know if Jim is still maintaining the registry? I've not seen him post here for ages.
I'm sure that someone here will recognise that car.

Looks like Jims done some reorganizing on his site, the new link works

Thanks for the new link Gary; I thought that registration numbers were included on the old registry, they are not on this version, as far as I can see. Looks like that trail has run cold for this car.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks lads your doing a cracking job. i shouldnt have looked at this forum it makes me miss my old Elan even more.
I had to sell it in the first place as my ex wife wanted half (int life crap).
My Elan was a funny on as it was a genuine S4 but it had S3 vents behind the doors mus have been sort of pre S4,
This photo was taken at Ketteringham hall 1985 ?
