early serial number

Found: 7001.0003B. This coupe is in abandoned storage near me. I have been trying to buy it since 1989. The serial number is significant as it is the third in the 'new' numbering system. Are 0001 and 0002 out there? I'll try to get a photo to attach. There are also 2 Plus2's in the same storage. One belonging to the owner and one abandoned. Sorry i won't reveal the location!

Have a look at

and search for 0003B for some info on the serial no/engine no. One of the funny things about how they did VIN's then was that 0003 is used multiple times and the B (for S4 FHC, Export) is the distinguisher. Note that the dates are US format (mm/dd/yyyy).
