Hi Adam
I did and didn't purchase that car for reasons I'll only discuss privately. I am now the proud owner of MAB 10K. Which is the Yellow/White & Gold Elan Sprint featured on the Front cover of this month's Classic Car Magazine in a shoot out an E Type Jag and the other cars also featured.

Cheers

Victoria now owns an extremely tight, well sorted and original Sprint. She has told me that she will be painting the bottom of the sill black and replacing the cigarette lighter, which were the two things I spotted in the Classic Cars article.

Victoria bought MAB 10K from previous owner Ed Keen (he and his father have a good classic car collection, which I see is to be featured in next months CC mag), who is pictured in the article. The write-up was the usual regurgitated Elan points - fragile, demanding of owners time yet brilliant handling and ride, comfortable etc. However, to give the scribbler his due, he wisely came to the conclusion that the Sprint was the car to go for over the E-Type, Corvette, Stag and Alfa.

There's got to be a good story here...

That garage in Southend has a few nice Sprints on eBay

Tim , it's worth much more now since the bottom of the sills are black
