Nah, I don't mind the term...I get a lot worse.
They point at my mighty Heinkel three wheeler and call it a bubble car, the Moke is a tea tray on wheels.
So I take Baby Elan as a term of endearment compared to the other names. Perhaps we should drop the name ?Elan? off altogether?
?My baby?s head is weeping oil, should I tighten it up a bit??
?My baby refuses to get going when hot, even when towed down the street for a mile or so?
"I've blead my baby several times now, but she still doesn't have the bite or feel that she used to have"
?My baby keeps coughing and spluttering when going along slowly. Would a good thrashing sort her out??
Sorry, I?ve gone too far now. I?ve had a long, hard day.

Have i missed point, was the use of the name baby not a chris niel invention, technicaly the plus 2 is the baby! i dont remember the term being used when i bought my s2 back in 75 then they were refered to as elans or plus 2ooos. Which came first the chicken or the egge? Cmon guys lets get back to owning elans identified by series or plus 2ooooooooos also by model. Still got my first elan which i am restoring got the original badges but cant find the one that says baby anywhere, Is the 650 bonniville called the baby by 750 owners i think not. I feel better now going out to the garage to read a bedtime story to the **** curly

Well I can talk with a little knowledge of Sprints.
There were 1396 Sprints produced. I have knowledge of 489 on the road at present, roughly 35% of production. There will be another what, say 250 odd that I do not know about, either on the road or in a garage/barn. So around 750 guestimated to be around still, some 55% of production?
