Wiper Problem

I've just noticed that my wipers have stopped working on my '73
+2.Looking at the back of the switch I have noticed that there are 4
terminals, but only 3 have wires going to them. I was replacing the
oil pressure pipe the other day and wondered if I had knocked a
terminal off or if the switch should only have 3 wires going to it? I
can't see a loose wire, but it may just be hiding from me. If anyone
can advise it would be appreciated.

Wiper Problem

I memory serves it is 3 wires to the switch , power , slow speed and fast
speed.
The other contact is made when the switch is off.

The wiper motor has 4 wires....

Slow
Fast
Permanent live (for self parking)
Ground. - wired to the case of the motor or gearbox.

Of course if the car is posative ground the power and ground are reversed.

Check that there is power on the switch because you may have disturbed the
connection on the fuse box not on the switch.
This also may be that awire has fractured.

Now because you have no function it is likely to be a common failure between
the low and high speed systems --- ie power or ground.

Hope this helps

Brian
