Jay?s Garage: Ask Jay
As an S4 owner, I have found some great auto advice through the ?Jay?s Garage? area of the Tonight Show site. I know it has been a while since Jay earned his living as a mechanic, but I think he has a team of auto pros working with him to answer visitor questions. There is also some very cool 3D technology on the site, specifically the ?Virtual Jay? area of http://www.nbc.com/tonightshow/

I met Jay once at an automotive book store in Burbank. He
was driving his vintage Bently. I grew up in Hollywood, and
as is my habit around celebrities, I just gave him a smile,
acknowledging that I'd recognized him, but I didn't pester
him.

Well, Jay actually struck up a gear-head related conversation
with ME, as he walked over to the check-out counter. I was
impressed. He is apparently one of those genuinely friendly
people, whose attitude hasn't changed because of his fame.

And he really loves the hobby.

Howdy,

I had to add my two cents. I met Jay twice, both at Monterey but different
years. He exhibits his cars there. Once we were looking at a Viper (I was
with the Prez of the Viper Club of Calif) and Jay walked up and said "this
car is twice the car my Countach is - wish I hadn't bought the Lambo" Course
my friend was ecstatic.

Then we saw him over at Pebble Beach with one of his award-winning cars which
has funny headlights protruding from the front fenders. We were "tsk-tsking"
over the humpy look it gave the car, when he walked up behind and said -
"Yeah, makes it look like a society matron with the boobs of a $20 hooker" or
something like that.

Funnny guy, though I never watch TV so can't say I like his show...
