Radiator support brackets

PostPost by: fatboyoz » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:09 am

Hi all,
Can someone please look at their radiator support brackets (the
brackets that are attached between the front chassis uprights and the
bonnet/hood pivot point) and advise the orientation of the brackets.
Specifically, at the top end, does the right angle point inwards or
outwards.
Thanks, Colin. 68S4DHC

At the top end of the bracket, the right angle bend points outward where it
connects to the bonnet/hood pivot. The connection is to one of the "bearing"
screws in the pivot, third from the top.

Another Lotus conundrum...on my '69 S4 the right angle bends inward. I
have the original radiator and it would not fit if I turn the brackets
around.

I understand the situation. On mine, with the right angle outward and the
original radiator, the bracket was bent outward (below the pivot) and the
mounting plate on the radiator was trimmed to clear the bracket. I have
since fitted a cross-flow radiator and refined that bracket arrangement.
