Lotus Elan is Sexy!

The Lotus Elan Sprint is the 93rd most sexiest car, at least according to Top
Gear The Elise is a few spots ahead of the Elan and the original Esprit is
towards the top.

Lotus Elan: motoring for purists

The shape is a couple of stark sweeps, the monocoque construction and
Lotus/Ford 1.6-litre twin-cam engine similarly pared back to necessary
perfection for a car designed to be both exciting to drive and look at.

Produced between '71 and '73, the Elan Sprint is a car that could speed
the average big-haired, drug-groggy starlet to 60mph in 6.7 seconds while
cocking a querulous eyebrow at the waiting flashbulbs. With only 126bhp at
its disposal, it was quick, pretty and simple. Let's face it, the Elan is
a car fan's car - mention the name and you'll never be derided.

Yeah but how much credit can you take when the top most Sexy car in a
top 100 Sexy cars list is a Fiat Cinqueciento? It may be cute and fun,
but it is not sexy at all.

Really there are far too many ugly cars that I do not think are sexy in
any way shape or form in their list for me to take it seriously. Then
again nothing I've seen from Top Gear was quite all there, so it is
like them to get interesting or desirable confused with sexy.
