Elan S4 Glovebox pull strap

PostPost by: fatboyoz » Sun Aug 27, 2006 1:34 am

Dear All,
I have replaced my dash, and in the process have lost/misplaced the
leather/vinyl pull strap for the glovebox. This is an early S4 with a
lockable glovebox, that requires a pulling device once the lock button
is pressed to open the glovebox. Any assistance re: material, shape,
size, colour and method of attachment would be greatly appreciated.
Even perhaps a photo if someone could manage.
Thanks Colin 68 S4 DHC.

The glovebox door on my original dash had a hole drilled - I asume for
some sort of knob or pull. We bought a wooden drawer pull knob at Home
Depot for a buck or so and mounted it with a screw and washer from the
inside. Worked great, covered the hole, and looked like it belonged
there. We could have stained it to match the dash, but eventually
replaced it with a Prestige Autowood dash and no hole in the door.

I remember seeing one once that had a leather pull under the lock. It
looked to me to be the shape of your average leather key fob, and was
stained a dark tan natural leather color or maybe just waxed and old.
