Lotus Elan

Lotus Elan Chassis Mod to allow Diff to come out left side

PostPost by: tvacc » Tue Apr 04, 2006 2:00 am

My email is down and not sending...so I will post this to the group
site..

Ok....Found the Photos of the Chassis Mod.

Have posted them here:

http://www.lotusowners.com/RepairsUpgra ... %20Chassis%
20Mod.htm

if this gets truncated...

Go to www.lotusowners.com
Then to the Repairs/Upgrades link...
Then choose the top left link.

Remember...this was a brand new galvanized chassis that I bought
from John Ambler and that he bought from Lotus....circa 1988-1990

Tony,

did you get the chance to mark up the chassis GA yet?

Regards

For comparable areas on an original late 72 Sprint chassis

Maybe it's the bad lighting but at first sight it looks like the left
hand side would foul diff removal even more than the right! I have
some more shots somewhere. I'll try and dig them out.

Tough to make a comparison with all the rust. This is what worked on my
Chassis. It was a long time ago and I no longer have the car.
