I am close to finishing an early series 3 coupe. I need to know if
anyone has found tires for knock off wheels thjat fit the body?? Also
just about ready to install the windshield. I assume the split in the
rubber moulding belongs on the bottom vs. the top of the windshield?
Thanks for your help,

Put the split on the top - don't leak up there!

I have Kumho Power Star 758's on my Sprint. 155/80 R-13. I'm happy with
them.

I also have the joint in my windshield molding at the bottom. Having
it at the top offers an opportunity for water intrusion at the high
point of the windshield where gravity can allow water to work its way
down the entire window perimeter. At the bottom, you're limiting the
places water can possibly migrate to... (I'm an architect; water is my
enemy!)

Brian,

I believe 165/70R13 have same rolling diameter as the original
145/80R13. They fit the 4.5" stock steel wheels and I believe they clear
the bodywork on the front. I intend to get some, but my restoration is
just beginning, so tires a bit premature. I have shaved the lower rear
spring seat to provide a mite extra rear inside clearance.

Europe seems to have some selection in this size, but I have found only
one H-rated AA tire in this size in the USA, the Maxxis MA-703, from
Cheng-Shin.
