Tachometer

I've seen a bunch of posts about making the tach work right. I assume it
will work right with a magnetic pick up in lieu of points in the distributor
but was wondering if it will also work right with a spark box like MSD or
Crane? Thanks, Steve

I'm going through the conversion of my original RVI tach to work with
my Mallory Hyfire VI-AL ignition. I located someone locally who has
successfully modified similar tachs to work with electronics ignitions
in Tigers etc. Basically the tach signal from these ignitions cannot
be read by the RVI type tach. Another Lotus owner locally did
successfully use a MSD ignition box with his RVI by installing the MSD
tach adapter.
I should have my tach modified and installed next week. I'll post the
results.

OK so before I order a positive ground Pertronix ignitor for my distributor
can anybody tell me positively that the stock tach will work correctly with
the Pertronix unit installed in place of the points? Thanks Steve
