Engine Install

Hi,
I am about to put the engine back in my S4 DHC. Will it go in with the
oil filter attached? How about the oil pan? Both were off when i took it
out, and it looks like a tight fit to get it in with them on.
Currently, the tranny is in the car. Would it be better to pull it,
attach to engine and put the whole thing in?

Oil pan and oil pump/filter should be on the engine to install. Its
a crap shoot about the gearbox, some prefer to install the box with
the engine some would rather line up the clutch plate and input shaft
in the car.
