Elan mufflers

I needed one that would go into the depression in the bodywork where
the original was but (and this is the difficult to find part) also had
to have both the entry and exit at one end.
I went to a small, independent muffler shop. Note: Over my many
Elan-owning years, I've always made the effort to find small, low
overhead, cooperative muffler shops because they tend to work with you
in solving little custom problems and don't charge more for the
trouble... in fact, I've found that they are often happy to participate
in a little problem solving and typically, have come up with cleaver
solutions.
The muffler they suggested in my current case is the perfect size and
shape as well as being in inexpensive off-the-shelf item. Sorry I don't
know the manufacturer (I seem to recall the name begins with "M") or
part number... it's been at least five years.
