Lotus Elan

+2 windscreen

PostPost by: rdssdi » Sun Apr 24, 2005 3:00 am

I have just purchased the rubber and the plastic chrome filler strip for my
1969 Elan +2.

The original rubber was very deteriorated and it did not have the corner
trim pieces as shown in the parts book.

Are these trim pieces still used? Are the bottom corner rubbber trim mitered
or does it attach in one piece?

The manual picture suggests that the rubber trim is one piece and the filler
strip is mitered.

Anyone know what the story is.

Thanks

Bob

If your car is a 69, it has the windsheild as you describe. I believe you are confusing the later glue in windsheild with the corner pieces. There areno such peices for the early car.
Tip: Do not cut the rubber at all until you are almost done installing it, it needs ot be about 2 inches longer than you think.
