Getting accelerator when braking

PostPost by: brassrngfm » Tue Apr 05, 2005 9:14 pm

I had a similar problem at first. Because of how the accelerator pivots,
if it's too far back toward the firewall, then the top part, where the cable
comes in is lower and if your foot is at all high on the brake pedal you
goose the accelerator while applying the brake. Just loosen the cable clamp,
shorten the cable a tad, and you'll be fine. Be sure to tighten the cable
bushing clamp well. (I soldered the end where the cable clamp fit so the
strands couldn't move over one another. Used regular acid flux solder)I have
US size 10.5 shoes and am OK on spacing - but I usually wear soccer shoes
when driving, as they don't have a wide sole and are more like driving shoes.
I do angle my foot, but more on the clutch.
