Heater valve

Just put the head back on the car and went to hook up the heater control
valve to the cable and found that the little 'thingy' that clamps the
cable core to the valve has gone AWOL. Could someone take a picture of
this little bit so that I can make something up as sp far none of the
usual suppliers have the part listed.

Steve,

Since the valve is a Triumph part, why don't you try a source for Triumph parts. It's really a universal part used on many heater and throttle cables.Even your local factors should have one.

Steve, as Roger advised the unit is same as for a Triumph (TR6 for
one I know). MGB also uses the same heater valve - albeit on a
different base (it bolts on to waterjacket whereas the Triumph/Elan
unit screws in).

Elliott.

These valves were used in Minis and many other BMC cars of the era. There
should be no problem finding parts

I have one from my S2 parts car. Does it need to work or is this just for show on your racecar?
