Paul Matty has one in stock at the moment GBP67,950 - nice if you have
deep pockets.

There is a guy in Johannesburg making very pretty replicas of the 11, with fibreglass body. The rolling chassis is priced at about the GBP 2000. Not bad if you really want a road going / racing look-a-like and have a shallowpocket.

Sorry group......
I attatched the pics of the XI on rogers bit....if anyone else wants to
see it then I can post it to the forum or you can go looking yourself on
their web site.........
http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk/
There's a nice looking +2 next to it too.......PM has that for sale at
?16,950.....no not ?16.95p....nearly ?17k....gotta be the most expensive
+2 since the day they were new (relatively speaking....ish)
That should put a smile on a few +2 owners faces......looks like +2's
might be on the up again...I know there are fewer and fewer of them now
and their numbers are being wittled down at an alarming rate at the
moment judging by the number of bits that keep appearing on ebay......
Ah well

What is the import cost to the UK though....think that this could be
prohibitive.....
Westfield have started production of their 11....?9k get you everything
except the bits from your donor 1275 mg midget......and it looks quite
pretty.....

I have a Uncle, who was a panel beater, and went for an interview at Lotus
to make parts for the 11. Didn't get the job and stuck to making parts for
AC and London Busses.

My (very tenuous) claim to fame!

Obviously, I'm not a serious looker/ buyer. I am just curious as to it's configuration and condition. Perhaps I'll email PM.

I suppose I was somwhat instrumental in the sale/purchase of #150, about a week ago, and one of the cars the purchaser was looking at was another car in the US w/ same number. He sent me some photos of it to evaluate and it looked like a real car to me, but sometimes hard to say w/ just a few photos. Often, it's the lack of photos of certain areas of a car that make me suspect someones hiding something. At these kind of prices, buyers need to beware, since part of what they are paying for is a continuous legitimate history.

As this is the Elan list I should add a couple of things --

Paul Robinshaw was there taking pics of a rather unusual Plus Two
that's being built there (which I didn't see),

and PM have just published their first ever printed parts catalogue.
Other than "across the counter" I don't know how it's possible to get

I'm pretty sure from the colours and bodywork that this is the same Eleven that Classic Cars magazine ran quite a detailed article on a couple of years ago. I haven't got the magazine to hand - it is archived at my other house - but the reason the car was so special was its originality. It had only done a couple of thousand miles from new and was pretty much exactly as it was when it left the factory. I can't remember the exact details, but it had been mothballed for an absurd length of time (since the early '60's, I think), before being 'rediscovered'. If anyone is seriously interested, contact me off-list and I will dig out the article, scan it and e-mail them a copy.

It certainly isn't the first ever printed parts catalogue Paul Matty have printed - I have a copy from a few years ago (around year 2000/2001, I think), but they just sort of slipped a bit with updating and reprinting it! It was very useful, though, so if they are printing a new one, it will be essential for any Elan/Plus 2 owners in the UK and Europe.
