March 3rd Eugene van Herpen died at the age of 60.
He was for many years the president of the Lotus Cl;ub Holland and was
honorary member of that club since. He collected real Lotuses, models and
memorabilia. He was first owner of a1970 Sprint DHC. He really used his cars
on a regular basis, one could meet him in a Seven, an Elan, an Elite or a
Westfield on the highway.
After the pioneering fase of the club, it was founded in 1977, he was the
president who brought structure and stability to the club. He inspired
others to bring up initiatives. This brought the members an almost yearly
technical seminar, a magazine that came out on a regular base and social
contacts between the members.
He will be missed.
