I am currently preparing a cross-flow block for a twin cam engine. I
have decked it to suit standard Lotus pistons but remember reading
somewhere that the engine mount bosses on one side project 1/2"
further out than the 'L' blocks. Can anyone confirm which side
(inlet or exhaust) and whether the bolt holes then need to drilled
and tapped deeper?
Thanks

Mike,
I built a 711 engine. The casting is different as you say, but you don't have to modify it. In any case, drilling and tapping the block would not do anything for you. All you need to change are the bolts and spacer sleeves for the exaust side.
