One step forward teo steps back

I spent most of Sunday timing the cams after putting the head back on.
Thanks to those who suggested a small steel plate bolted between the cam
caps to hold the magnetic base for the dial gauge. However this is still
a real pain in the butt to get the gauge in place. Anyway I had success
in the end. The one step forward.
I then put the fan belt back on and while jacking up the front of the
car to get to the bottom alternator bolts the car slipped off the jack.
This smashed through the underside of the front of the car and in to the
radiator. So new radiator required plus some time spent with resin and
mat. Two steps back
Any hints and tips on how to repair this dammage greatly appreciated.
