Dream car!
Now can I persuade the wife to allow me to remortgage the house!

I couldn't reply to this yesterday 'cause I can't access Ebay from the office, so I had to wait until last night to see what it was. And then, you made my day. By the time I looked, it had sold by "buy it now", so I couldn't see the bid history, but that would be interesting. By the seller's listing, it looks like it will stay in UK. I also wonder what the chassis number is?

Rob,

Perhaps you're right that it just expired, since the finish is exactly 10 days after the start. But I thought I got a pop-up when I found it last night that said it ended early by "buy it now". Anyway, that would've been the most expensive I'd seen one go for since 1989. Still, it is good to see a car I've not seen before and I still wonder what it's chassis number is.

It IS a beautiful car. with a 1958 build date it would have to

Frank,

Yeah, there is a phone and a web site. But the Lotus is not inside the building shown in the other photos, which is stone, not brick, as the Lotus is.So, I'm guessing this is a broker.

I also find it strange there is no chassis number in the listing and the only Eleven that ran LeMans 24hr race (note the long range tank filler in front of the screen and high tail, long windscreen, App C bodywork)with Wobblyweb wheels was the 750cc car of Allison/ Keith Hall 1957. All others fitted w/ wire wheels because tire changes were expected. Lots a questions, but perhaps I should just mind my own business.
