Lotus Elan

CAD drawing or any detailed drawing ofpedal b ox?

PostPost by: davidallen » Wed Dec 22, 2004 1:38 pm

No body? I happen to know of someone who has a sprint body but with no
chassis/engine!

The body was removed, painted to a high standard, and put into storage while
the engine/chassis were shipped to another garage for repair. Unfortunately,
for personal reasons my friend did not contact the garage for several
months, during which time the garage went bust and the receiver took away
the engine etc!

If you are interested, and located in the uk, I could put you in touch. The
body is in Leeds.

David

Marc,
I'm afraid I don't remember there being what I would call a pedal box on a
regular Elan. A +2 is another matter though. On the Elan, there is just a
shaft running between two body mounted pivots. One pedal rotates the shaft
w/ the other two functions pivoting on the shaft. At one point, the shaft is
supported by a brace that runs forward and provides a stiffener where the
master cylinders mount through it and the body. Quite simple, really.

If you have nothing to go on at all, I do have the pedals still on the shaft
out of my burnt S2 parts car, that I kept the complete chassis, driveline,
VIN plate and title to someday build something special. Where are you
located?

Sorry for the oversight - it's LHD, but worst case I think I could mirror
RHD drawings if that all that is available.

Hi All,

I was considering having a new pedal box made up. Would anyone have a
drawing, they would share, that is detailed enough to be used for
fabrication?

Thanks in advance, -Marc
