I have one but didn't fit it since it is a such large ugly air obstruction.
Why don't you fit a modern cylindrical air filter?

does anyone have an elan airbox -- this is the one with the two
trumpet horns down in the front of the car. I already have a couple
of the boxes that go to the carbs. Pete

Hi Pete,
I've got one you can have for the shipping cost, needs cleaning up, could
probably use a little paint, but ok condition overall.

Hi Les,
Thank for the offer. Actually I was just posting a URL intended as a reply to Pete's mail of about a week ago.
It seems like he is getting sorted out anyway.
I am in NZ and we can still get the Vauxhall item fron junk yards. I brought my Elan back from England over 20 years ago and items like that had a fair amount of rust in them, even then.
The original Vauxhall type ( Series 3 Elan) tailights, for example, were rusted out but unfaded. The pair I picked up in NZ were in good condition but with very faded lenses.
I think these aircleaner survived easily, in the Vauxhall environment, as they were normally covered in oil mist.
Ta again
Regards
Kevin
