Depending on how old the paint is and colour matching goes it could be
interesting......I'd be tempted to get some professional to colour match
it for you and get the paint rather than trying to get an aerosol to
match.....I tried this many years ago with an MGB roadster and you could
tell that some amateur (ie me) had been at it......as for the paint in
theory it should be.........

Colour Code Lotus Part No. Supplier Part No.

Wedgewood Blue L.03 A036 B 6317V 6170 Z 1290 (PJ)

Cirrus White L.04 A036 B 6318V 6170 Y 2790 (PJ)

Carnival Red L.05 A036 B 6319V 6170 X 0540 (PJ)

Burnt Sand L.06 A036 B 6320V 6170 X 5350 (PJ)

Lotus Yellow L.07 A036 B 6321V 6170 X 3940 (PJ)

Matt Black L.08 A036 B 6312V 0235 X 9050RZ

Royal Blue L.09 A036 B 6322V 6170 Z 1920 (PJ)

Bahama Yellow L.10 A036 B 6323V 6170 Y 3140 (PJ)

Regency Red L.11 A036 B 6356V 6170 Y 5960 (PJ)
Maroon
French Burgundy

Lagoon Blue L.12 A036 B 6357V 6170 A 1130 (PJ)
Scandinavian Blue

Guessing that you are L05 (carnival red) over L04 (cirrus
white)......although I could be wrong.........
I'd still be tempted to get some paint made to match rather than trying
to just match numbers.........

Cheers
G

John,
In addition, as a '69 car, I don't think the red/white scheme could be original, late '70 seems to be when the Sprint came into being, although the first ones were converted from unsold S4's at the factory. This being the case, whoever painted it could have used any red paint available. As Gareth says, the best thing is to get it colour matched by a pro.

Gareth and John

I once used a "professional" to match a custom paint on my Europa. Match
looked perfect in his store window (combined sunlight and fluorescent
light). In full sunlight it was not even close. Just a "BEWARE" of color
matches. Color and light are a funny thing, especially REDS!

I'm afraid you will NEVER match red paint.......
It might look great in the sunlight but wait until its dark and put the car
under the orange sodium street lights it just looks awful :-(
Good way of spotting a red car thats been touched up !!!

Cheers,
Ian F.
