Burning Oil

If your Elan has been running poorly (or not at all: carbs off) then your
statement is inaccurate. You said "I get to burn a bit of oil each
night in the garage" You are not burning any oil; the oil is simly leaking
out of the engine. Look for puddles.

Did you mean burning lamp oil? Even I know that Lucas abandoned oil as a
fuel for their headlights in the 50's and have been trying to find
sufficient electrons ever since.
