Windshield brace

I am working on the windshield frame for my 64 roadster. I need to replace the bicycle spoke that attaches the top and bottom of the frame. Mine was rusted very bad and broke trying to remove it. It measures 20 1/2 inches. I contacted Tingle's and he did not have any. I also contacted a bike shop and they did not have any that long. I can probably make one and get it plated but wanted to see if anyone on the list might have a source for this item

Thanks,
John

I know you can get them here in the UK. As the part is small and light
shipping should not be an issue.

Have a look through the archives - I remember this subject was discussed in
some depth within the last year or so.

Good luck,

When I tried to get one in the U.K. a few years ago only the thicker

ended up making one from a "wiplash" type car antenna.

John,
I have an S4 so I don't know the exact thickness of your wire "spoke", but I
made a new one for my car from a length of stainless steel rod purchased
from McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/). They have it on 1/16, 3/32,
1/8 on up. Buy a length, thread it (I assume it's threaded on both ends
like my S4) and polish it. Looks like chrome, and will never pit or rust.
