Wiper Motor Connections

Lotus Enthusiasts:
Well - after getting thoroughly soaked in a pop up thunderstorm on
the way home from a car show 2 weeks ago, I decided it's time to try
once again to get my wipers working - as my left arm only had limited
reach and effectiveness. Must have been funny for those passing me,
though!
As background, I'm a Chemical Engineer, but have built my own TV in
the distant past. Usually, things electrical don't scare me. But this
wiper has me perplexed. My DR3A (75446) has '1', '2', and 'E' spade
fittings - so I hooked up the ground from the battery to wiper
ground and tried attaching the hot leads to both 1 and 2. Nothing!
The wiring diagram shows 4 leads (1 of them being a hot wire) but I
only have 3 leads. I've taken my wiper/washer switch apart to clean
it and made a diagram of which of the three spade connections have
zero resistance at each detant of the 2-speed switch. I'd be happy to
have even 1 speed working (either slow or very slow), but am not sure
whether the motor is lunched or whether there is a bad setting on the
parking switch dome. (If I remember - I tok it apart to make sure it
was clean and not gummed up - but it's been a while.) Any advice on
where the hot lead goes -to switch or motor - or where I could find
the internal wiring diagram for the motor would be greatly
appreciated. Is there any site that tells the distinction between the
various DR3A models - as there must be hundreds of them.
Thanks
