Daytona 24 hour classic

There was one that raced in the Daytona 24 hour classic last weekend. No official results are posted online (will update this post when they are) and I wasn't able to attend but the unofficial results I've seen seems to indicate that the Elan got outclassed in its group by 2 Porsche 912s and a 911.
By no means a criticism of the driver, car, or team - I have limited racing knowledge but I highly suspect that the problem is that Daytona is a lousy track for an Elan to perform on - lots of long straights and limited corners where an Elan comes to life.
